The Secure Act was signed into law in December 2019 and went into effect on January 1, 2020. This is the biggest change to retirement law in decades. It affects the age at which you must start Required Minimum Distributions, the age limit for making IRA contributions, and the ability of your heirs to do a Stretch IRA.
